“The Masters of Rinascimento”:
David and the Dome Await You in Virtual Reality

A Unique Experience for All Visitors to Florence

Slow Tour Tuscany and WAY Experience present — available to the public from November 6, 2025, in Florence — Michelangelo’s David, a new experience that, through the advanced application of cutting-edge technologies such as Virtual Reality, opens new perspectives on the cultural and touristic enjoyment of Florence and its historical and artistic heritage.

MICHELANGELO’S DAVID – The Masters of Rinascimento

The idea is to offer an innovative and captivating journey into the world of art and history, combining the expertise of one of Florence’s leading tour operators, Slow Tour Tuscany, with the creativity of one of Italy’s most renowned and pioneering cultural enterprises, WAY Experience.

The Masters of Rinascimento allows visitors to immerse themselves fully in the rich artistic and cultural panorama of the Renaissance, rediscovering Florence as it once was — with its atmosphere, colors, and historical figures.

Michelangelo’s David gives visitors the opportunity to observe Michelangelo Buonarroti’s David in every detail, bridging the centuries that separate us from its creation. Virtual Reality enables a journey through time to stand beside the artist as he worked on his most celebrated masterpiece, capturing the very essence of his creative genius.

The experience leads visitors into Michelangelo’s fascinating world and his masterpiece. Thanks to a team of art historians, immersive storytelling experts, digi-cult narrators, curators, and selected scientific committees, Michelangelo’s David allows participants to fully appreciate the mastery and passion of Michelangelo, guided by an intimate monologue of Buonarroti himself.

The meticulously crafted virtual environments have been designed to convey the historical and artistic essence of the period in which the sculpture was created, without overlooking the theatrical quality that defines the artist’s storytelling.

BRUNELLESCHI’S DOME – Building the Impossible

The experience begins inside the majestic Basilica of Santa Maria del Fiore. The nave extends magnificently before the viewer, while the gaze is drawn upward to the dome under construction. Guided by Brunelleschi’s narrating voice, visitors are drawn into this titanic project (begun in 1426 and completed in 1436), which challenged the limits of the technology and art of its time.

As the platform on which the viewer stands slowly rises, Brunelleschi recounts the daring challenge of constructing the dome — the largest ever built without supporting scaffolding. At the base of the drum, visitors discover the revolutionary design of the self-supporting octagon and closely observe the ingenious construction system and architectural details that made this unprecedented achievement possible.
Finally, through a journey across time, visitors will see the completed dome, with its lantern and the famous frescoes by Vasari and Zuccari.

The creation of Brunelleschi’s Dome – Building the Impossible was made possible thanks to the valuable scientific collaboration of the Opera di Santa Maria del Fiore, which played a key role in defining the content and ensuring its historical, artistic, and scientific accuracy.

The meticulously crafted virtual environments have been designed to convey the historical and artistic essence of the period in which the sculpture was created, without overlooking the theatrical quality that defines the artist’s storytelling.
