The Torrigiani Garden is one of the largest green spaces hidden within Florence’s city walls: a 6-hectare private park decorated with fascinating symbols and incredible flora. Boasting tree and plant species from all over the world, the garden is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, one of Florence’s best-kept secrets featuring its classic 19th-century style.
Visitors are personally accompanied around the garden by one of the owners (the Torrigiani di Santa Cristina or the Torrigiani Malaspina), whose residences are located within the area. Here, you’ll also find the Serre Torrigiani, a space dedicated to hosting exclusive events. The Serre also organizes art and culture-based courses, such as garden design and horticulture, botanical painting lessons and cooking classes.
Strolling through walkways and spacious lawns, you’ll find a small hermitage, a charming gymnasium, an aviary and a romantic bridge crossing the Ladon river, not to mention the sculptures, columns and the large tower (the family's symbol) that adorn the garden.
