“Florence in Relief” is a tactilepublication, designed for blind and/or visually impaired users: a print project featuring a series of embossed depictions of the city’s main monuments, aimed at promoting Florence’s Historic Center (UNESCO World Heritage Site) with a focus on sustainable, accessible, and inclusive enjoyment.
The two-volume publication is available free of charge at the Florence Welcome Center or can be requested by sending an email to: promozione.turistica@comune.fi.it.
The Project
“Florence in Relief” is part of the broader project “Feel Florence: From Digital Transition to Sustainability for a New Tourist Destination,” carried out with financial support from the Ministry of Tourism—UNESCO Sites and Creative Cities Call for Proposals. The publication was developed and produced by the City of Florence (Department of Economic Development, Tourism, Trade Fairs, and Conferences) in collaboration with the Department of Architecture (DIDA) at the University of Florence and the Italian Union of the Blind and Visually Impaired (UICI).
