November in Florence? Get lost in your thoughts while visiting museums and bookstores, roam around Chianti admiring the autumnal colors, and discover hidden corners by exploring the city's many treasures.

This month's muse is Anna Maria Luisa de' Medici, the Electress Palatine, the last descendant of the Medici family. Thanks to her Family Pact of 1737, a document in which she ensured that the Medici's assets could never be taken away from Florence, we can all spend endless days meandering the city’s masterpieces. She deserves credit for having made the artistic and cultural heritage of the Medici public. A truly smart icon!

UNMISSABLE EVENTS THIS NOVEMBER

Autumnia – November 7–9, 2025

It’s time to visit the village of Figline e Incisa Valdarno, in the Metropolitan City of Firenze, for the 26th edition of “Autumnia”—a fair dedicated to local products, agriculture, the environment, and food. Numerous local farms will be present with zero-kilometer products, cooking shows, and a livestock exhibition featuring more than 50 farm animals.

Christmas Market “Weihnachtsmarkt” – November 15 to December 21, 2025

In Piazza Santa Croce, you’ll find the traditional German Christmas market, with wooden stalls selling handmade crafts, home decorations, winter clothing, and many German delicacies: pretzels, Bavarian sausages, mulled wine, and slices of strudel. It’s the perfect way to warm up and soak in the holiday spirit. A Santa’s House will also be set up in front of the Basilica, with plenty of Christmas activities for children.

Florence Queer Festival – November 26–30, 2025

The Florence Queer Festival, organized by IREOS in Florence, is Tuscany’s most important film festival dedicated to Queer culture (gay, lesbian, transgender, and more). As always, it will be hosted at Cinema La Compagnia, featuring a packed program of feature films, short films, book presentations, exhibitions, and panels.

Firenze Marathon - November 30, 2025

The Florence Marathon is the main road running event in Tuscany, and the second most important in Italy after Rome. It’s among the top 20 most important marathons in the world in terms of quantity of participants and quality, and weaves through the landscapes and monuments of the historic center of Florence.
