Estate Fiorentina 2025: 4 months of culture, music, and unmissable festivals

From June 1st to September 30th, Florence comes alive with an epic program: 139 organizers, 121 projects, 9 major festivals, 4 special events, and over 14 summer venues, including new spots like Piazza Edison and Giardino San Lorenzo a Greve. With nearly 2 million euros invested, Florence Summer brings you an energetic, artistic, and fun-filled season.

The main festivals:

1. Sagrati in Musica

June 7 – September 7

A free series of concerts in iconic city locations featuring classical music and high-quality performances. Experience the magic of Quintett8ni and Leviosa Quartet – Walt Disney.

2. Secret Florence

June 9 – July 5

A multidisciplinary festival held in unusual Florence spots, featuring artists like Victor Kossakovsky, Cristina Kristal Rizzo, and Virgilio Sieni for a unique artistic journey.

3. Apriti Cinema

June 16 – July 13

Auteur cinema screenings and talks in Piazza de’ Pitti. In collaboration with Festival dei Popoli, Florence Queer Festival, and more.

4. Florence Dance Performing Arts Festival

June 23 – July 24

The must-see dance festival with international shows, live music, and the Mercurio Volante Award. Guests include Stefania Auci, Marco Giallini, and the Antonio Gades Company.

5. Festival au Désert Firenze

July 23 – 25

A fusion of African, Mediterranean, and European musical cultures at Parco delle Cascine with artists like Zawose Queens and Kalifa Kone.

6. Firenze Jazz Festival

September 2 – 14

Over 20 concerts in more than 10 venues between Oltrarno and historic villas. Featuring Eleonora Strino, Isaiah Collier, Elio & Ossi Duri, and more.

7. Open Air Circus

September 11 – 21

Contemporary circus festival at Parco delle Cascine with national and international acts for immersive, poetic performances.

8. Lattexplus Festival

September 20

The ninth edition at Teatro del Maggio’s Cavea with top names in electronic music: Richie Hawtin, Miss Kittin, Helena Hauff, and Acid Arab.

9. Genius Loci: Discovering Santa Croce

September 25 – 27

Shows and talks exploring the Santa Croce Monumental Complex with guests like Fred Hersch, Emma Nolde, and Giua.

Special events you can’t miss:
  • Non Mollare – Different Stories (June 5 – September 20): Celebrating 100 years of the Florentine magazine “Non Mollare” with talks and shows curated by Chille de la Balanza and partners.
  • Le piazze dei libri (June 10 – 13): A citywide book festival with bookstores, authors, and publishers from all over Florence.
  • La Gaberiana (July 14 – 17): Dedicated to Giorgio Gaber, directed by Andrea Scanzi, featuring Samuele Bersani, Marco Giallini, and Nicola Gratteri.
  • Corpo Celeste (July 21 – 29): Participatory dance projects with the Virgilio Sieni National Dance Center.
