AN EVENING IN THE RENAISSANCE

The great Italian theatre performed in English

Florence Live Theatre is the first Italian company created to make Italian Theatre accessible to foreigners. The audience will enjoy experiential theatre, with unconventional locations, ancient costumes and props selected to embrace the viewer and allow for a magical authentic journey through time.

A brillant play adapted from "Mandragola" by Niccolò Machiavelli

The hilarious tale of the smitten Callimaco who desires to sleep with Lucrezia, the beautiful young wife of the rich and dumb lawyer Nicia. He pretends to be a doctor who has devised a magic potion, with the mandrake root, which will make the heretofore childless Lucrezia conceive. But the catch is that the first man who sleeps with her after she takes the po-tion will die. The resulting twists and turns lead on to nonstop high spirits and hilarity.

Where - Baglioni Relais Santa Croce

For one evening the Baglioni Relais Santa Croce in Florence returns to the Medici era with an event that combines culinary art with that of the stage. In the wonderful Sala della Musica of the Baglioni Relais Santa Croce, which perfectly frames the Renaissance atmosphere of Machiavelli, an amusing theatrical game between misunderstandings, deceptions and surprising twists, brought to the stage by "Florence Live Theater", the first Italian company to represent in English the great classics of Italian Theater.

A unique experience between theatre and cuisine

As the Medici did in the XVI century, we combine the fun of watching a one of a kind performance and the pleasure of tasting the finest Tuscan food and wine, in a dinner served throughout the performance by waiters in Renaissance costume.
