EVENT DESCRIPTION
At the end of the nineteenth century, the countryside and the moors in which Dante had made his movements centuries earlier were finally connected by the creation of a new railway inaugurated in 1893.

The new railway line was a real engineering prodigy for those times and put an end to centuries of isolation, connecting the Tyrrhenian with the Adriatic and the Medici Fortress with the grandiose mosaics of Sant’Apollinare.

The Second World War left heavy damage to part of the line which was totally restored and the regular service only began in 1999.

Today the railway that connects Faenza to Florence is considered a tourist jewel of great excellence for those looking for an experience rich in history, immersed in a landscape that at times seems to have remained the same as it was in Dante's time.

The stops:
  • SMN FIrenze station
  • Borgo San Lorenzo
  • Marradi
  • Brisighella
  • Faenza
  • Ravenna
