What you will find

The Museum houses over three hundred works by Maestro Zeffirelli, including stage sketches, drawings, and costume designs. The exhibition path, organized chronologically across rooms dedicated to Drama, Opera, and Cinema, presents his theatrical productions, opera direction, and cinematic adaptations of classical and contemporary literature.

  • History and costumes. His cinematic masterpieces based on Shakespeare: Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet.
  • The allure of his beloved operas. From Callas to Domingo to Pavarotti, all performing under the Maestro’s direction.

The exhibition is further enriched by stage photographs, posters, preparatory studies, and extensive documentation that bear witness to his productions on the most important stages and to the playwrights and composers he most admired in theatre and opera.  The Zeffirelli Museum honors a Maestro who directed some of the greatest stages of the 20th century.
