San Lorenzo, together with San Giovanni and Rificolona, is one of the traditional festival of the city, and like every year, thanks to the operators of the Central Market, the many volunteers and street vendors, the traditional free dinner returns on 10 August with distribution of pasta with meat sauce. , watermelon, yogurt and cream to celebrate the co-patron of Florence.

The celebrations will start from the morning at 9.45 with the Florentine Republic procession which will start at 9.45 from the Palagio di Parte Guelfa towards Palazzo Vecchio.

At 10.15 he will arrive in Piazza Signoria from where he will continue towards the Basilica of San Lorenzo, where at 11 will be officiated the Holy Mass celebrated by Cardinal Giuseppe Betori, archbishop of Florence, with the offering of candles by the municipal administration and the blessing to the city.

In the evening from 20.30 in Piazza San Lorenzo there will be a concert and dinner. The neighborhood is filled with people of all ages who dance in front of the church and eat the food offered by the Central Market on the night of the shooting stars. You can not miss it!
