Set up in 1441 to help affluent families who had fallen on hard times, the Compagnia rebuilt the Oratory in 1479. The frescoes depict scenes from the Life of Saint Martin and Works of Charity and are attributed to the workshop of Domenico Ghirlandaio. The lunettes are of both historic and artistic interest, giving an glimpse of life in 15th-century Florence.
