The Festival dei Popoli - International Documentary Film Festival - reaches its 64rd edition and collects, documents and promotes documentary cinema. Founded in 1959 by a group of human sciences scholars, anthropologists, sociologists, ethnologists and mass-mediologists, the Italian Festival dei Popoli institute has been involved for sixty years in the promotion and study of the cinema of social documentation.

At the same time, the Festival dei Popoli is engaged in the restoration and conservation of its archive (including about 10,000 titles, from videos to film reels), as well as in the organization of courses and workshops for aspiring directors and documentary makers.
