Credo, Scenes from the life of Christ: music by Bach, Liszt, Lauridsen, Bainton, Taverner, Taylor. The English choir "CANTANTI SABRINENSI" performs on April 19th at 9pm at St James Episcopal Church. Director: Judith Sheridan. Accompanist: Adrian Partington.
This program and the music were composed to reflect on the moments in the life of Christ referred to in the Apostles 'Creed:'
- Born of the Virgin Mary,
- Suffered under Pontius Pilate,
- He was crucified, Dead and buried
- He descended into hell;
- On the third day he rose from the dead;
- He went up to heaven,
- And sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
- From there he will come to judge the living and the dead. '
The composers come from all over the world: United States (Lauridsen), England (Bainton, Taverner & Taylor), Hungary (Liszt) and Germany (JS Bach). The musical director, Judith Sheridan, created the Sabrinensis choir in Gloucestershire in the west of England.
