EVENT DESCRIPTION

Forest Therapy, classified as a phytotherapeutic discipline, is the most effective complementary medicine to reduce the levels of anxiety, depression and stress, and has no contraindications. Growing scientific evidence also attributes important effects on physical health starting from the immune defenses.

With the collaboration of the Municipality of Vaglia and the Order of the Servants of Mary, the Forest Therapy project was activated also in the territory of the municipality and more precisely in the Woods of Montesenario.

The Forest Therapy session consists of short and slow walks, without significant physical effort, along paths immersed in particularly valuable forest environments such as the Montesenario woods. Guided by clinical professionals such as psychologists or psychotherapists qualified by the CAI, they provide for frequent stops and particular concentration on the connection of the senses with the forest environment (sight, hearing, touch, smell) for the purpose of producing beneficial effects on human health. Volatile organic compounds (BVOC including the so-called terpenes) are released from forest compositions for the benefit of physical and psychological health.

Recommended activity from 18 years

The activity is confirmed when the minimum number of participants is reached

In case of rain the activity will be postponed to a later date

Clothing: hiking shoe, water, hat. The use of poles is not recommended unless necessary for walking problems. We recommend a notebook where you can write down the emotions and sensations experienced at the end of the journey

Participation fee: € 25.00 per person

The fee includes: accompanying environmental guide, accompanying psychologist, booking fees
