Our tour begins at the Casa Buonarroti, purchased in 1508 by Michelangelo, where we will soon see some of the emotion of the artist's early masterpieces, from the famous bas-relief of the Madonna Della Scala to The Battle of the Centaurs.

Among the rooms of the museum, built under the supervision of his nephew Leonardo. We will follow the life and artistic development of the Maestro, continuing to the famous Church of Santa Croce, which houses the tombs of illustrious men such as Galileo Galilei, Ugo Foscolo, Vittorio Alfieri, Macchiavelli, Ghiberti. Here we also find the tomb of Michelangelo made at the behest of the Medici family by Giorgio Vasari, who celebrated him as a great sculptor, painter and architect. 

The church is the largest Franciscan church in Italy and goes back to 1294 by Arnolfo di Cambio and treasures wonderful masterpieces by Cimabue, Giotto, Donatello, Brunelleschi and Vasari.

After leaving the church we head to the Palazzo del Bargello, Florence old jail, now the National Museum of Sculpture, where we will begin a chronological path, starting from 1401. We will follow the footsteps of Michelangelo from the garden of S. Mark where he was a pupil of Bertoldo di Giovanni, until his unfinished sculptures, such as the famous Tondo Pitti. 

In the museum we will admire the Bronze David, S. George and other wonderful sculptures by Donatello, a master of Bertoldo di Giovanni, that Michelangelo studied deeply in his youth.

To have a complete idea of Michelangelo’s art, for the last part of this journey we will visit the Academy of Fine Arts Museum, which houses seven masterpieces of Michelangelo. 

We will appreciate the extraordinary beauty and majesty of the David, the four unfinished “Prigioni”, the second of his famous “Pieta”, and other unfinished works, sculpted with his famous technique, the non-finito.
