A fun guided tour of the Egyptian section of the Archaeological Museum with treats, treats + halloween-themed hieroglyphic writing workshop.

The Egyptian Museum of Florence is second in Italy only to the famous Egyptian Museum of Turin. Currently the Egyptian Museum of Florence has an Egyptologist on its staff and has over 14,000 exhibits distributed in nine rooms and two warehouses. The collection includes material ranging from prehistoric times to the Coptic era, with remarkable collections of steles, vases, shabtis, amulets and bronzes from various eras. Among the numerous important and interesting objects are some statues of the time of Amenofi III, the chariot of the XVIII dynasty, the pillar of the tomb of Sety I, the chalice of Fayence with a square mouth, the trousseau of the nurse of the daughter of the pharaoh Taharqa , the portrait of a woman by Fayum as well as an important collection of plaster casts from the late nineteenth century.
