The most important cycling competition in the world will start from Florence in 2024 for the first stage which will end in Emilia Romagna, in Rimini. It is the 25th time that the Tour starts from outside France (the first time in 1954 from Amsterdam) and for the first time in 121 years of history it starts from Italy, and it starts from Florence.

The teams will be presented on Thursday 27 June in Piazzale Michelangelo. The headquarters of the Grand Depart of the Tour will be at the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino.

On Saturday 29 June the Tour de France will start from Florence with a route from the Cascine to Piazza della Signoria, where there will be a ribbon cutting and institutional start. The first stage of the Tour, from Florence to Rimini, will pass through various locations in the Metropolitan City of Florence, passing through the municipalities of Bagno a Ripoli, Pontassieve, Pelago, Rufina, Dicomano, San Godenzo. Then passing through the Tre Faggi pass, the yellow caravan will head towards Romagna.
