EVENT DESCRIPTION:

From 20 October 2022 to 31 December 2023, at Villa Bardini, there will be an exhibition dedicated to Queen Elizabeth II of England.

The exhibition "Homage to the Queen", curated by Emanuele Barletti, makes visible to the public one of the three official replicas of the portrait of Annigoni, made by Romano Stefanelli under the supervision of the same Annigoni, belonging to a private collection.

Through about 400 objects, such as books, magazines and vintage newspapers, photographs, stamps, coins and banknotes, commemorative objects, is reconstructed both the relationship between Annigoni and the Queen that the transposition of the portrait in the public story of real life, made thanks to the rich historical documentation present in the Annigoni Fund of the Historical Archives of the Fondazione CR Firenze and thanks to loans from private collections.
