In this framework, difference, marginality and identity specificity constitute the primary nodes of the cultural battles fought in the name of gender, ethnicity, class, body and sexual orientation, against any removal or homologation of the "particular "in political, institutional, public discourse.

Mimmo Cangiano accompanies us in the historical reconstruction of these movements and highlights the ideological stratigraphies, symbolic planes and pragmatic contradictions intertwined in progressive "culture wars" that, without succeeding in untangling themselves from the constraints of the neoliberal system, often risk ambiguous outcomes, individualistic drifts or functional manipulations.
