Live an Unforgettable Experience in the Heart of Montelupo Fiorentino, Historic City of Ceramics. Discover an ancient art where raw clay is shaped and colored by the skilled hands of master artisans. You’ll be welcomed into a workshop of the Montelupo School of Ceramics, where you can choose between two hands-on activities: shaping an object on the potter’s wheel (limited availability) or decorating a plate in the traditional Montelupo style. At the end of the workshop, you’ll take home a unique souvenir made by your own hands — a truly authentic piece of “Made in Italy.”

Your experience continues at the nearby Museum of Ceramics, which houses a precious collection of majolica spanning from the 1200s to the 1700s. Here, you’ll learn about Montelupo’s central role as the “Factory of Florence,” producing ceramic works for noble families like the Medici, Pandolfini, and Strozzi, as well as for apothecaries and hospitals across Tuscany. The museum’s exhibits tell the story of Montelupo’s global influence during the Renaissance.

The day will end with a Tuscan-style aperitivo inside the museum, surrounded by the works of local artisans. It’s a timeless moment, immersed in an authentic corner of Tuscany where creativity, art, and beauty come together. To remember your experience, you’ll also receive a special gift bag with an information kit about the local area — a perfect way to carry the spirit of Montelupo with you and continue exploring its magic.
