The Horne Museum is one of the minor museums of Florence and at its core is the love of one man for art.
Herbert Percy Horne bought the Palazzo Corsi in via de’ Benci and he revamped it to create a Renaissance-style residence.
Held here is his super-rich collection of prints, drawings, books and furnishings that date to the period between 1200 and 1600. In the collection you’ll recognize the hand of some unequaled artists, such as Giotto, Martini, Masaccio and others.
The palazzo is located between via de’ Benci and corso Tintori, so two symmetrical facades decorate it, while the interior develops around a small courtyard. Through the courtyard you’ll access the underground section of the building that the Corsi used for washing textiles. The Museo Horne is a space where you can relive and rediscover the various customs, costumes and art of the city in the past.
