UNMISSABLE EVENTS IN JUNE
La Città dei Lettori – Villa Bardini
From June 4 to 8, 2025, the beautiful Villa Bardini will host the national (completely free) festival dedicated to books and literature: from meetings with national and international authors to events specifically for children, including presentations of candidates for the Strega Prize and much more.
Firenze Rocks – Visarno Arena
Italy’s most awaited and important rock festival returns live from June 12 to 15. Huge names will headline this year’s edition. Set to ignite the stage: Guns N’ Roses on Thursday the 12th, Korn on Friday the 13th, and Green Day on Sunday the 15th. Each date’s lineup will be packed with numerous international rock artists and bands.

New Generation Festival – Various Locations
The festival will kick off on June 11 in the stunning Piazza della Signoria, for a magical evening of bel canto arias and orchestral classics performed by emerging talents from the Maggio Musicale Academy and Mascarade Opera. In the following days (until June 15), the festival will move to other beautiful venues – Teatro della Pergola, Palazzo Corsini al Prato, and the Convent of San Francesco in Fiesole – for outstanding performances of theater, ballet, and live music.
San Giovanni and the Calcio Storico Final – Piazza Santa Croce
June 24 is the day all Florentines eagerly await! The city celebrates its patron saint, San Giovanni (St. John the Baptist), with the famous fochi – fireworks that light up the sky above Piazzale Michelangelo, coloring the entire city in celebration. But earlier in the day, the city is busy cheering for their neighborhood colors in the fiercely contested final match of the Calcio Storico tournament, held in the traditional arena of Piazza Santa Croce.
