What you will do
After a pleasant drive in a small group tour through the famous Chianti countryside you’ll reach the charming medieval village of San Gimignano, passing under the ancient Porta San Giovanni you’ll be immediately immersed in the magical medieval atmosphere of the hill town known for its many towers.
You’ll see streets full of multicolored shops, galleries of contemporary art that showcase original paintings and sculptures, wineries with wine and oil of the territory and others authentic and traditional local shops
Explore the evocative Piazza della Cisterna, one of the oldest squares in San Gimignano. Its name comes from the octagonal well in the center - the cisterna – which was made in 1273 from travertine In Piazza Duomo a spectacular staircase leads to the Church with its frescoes decorated interiors. From Piazza delle Erbe it is possible to reach the Rocca and to climb the tower for a stunning view of the town center, the surrounding countryside and the others San Gimignano towers.
You’ll then reach a typical wine and oil farm in the Chianti countryside. Here, after an interesting visit to the vineyard and the cellars, you’ll take a seat inside a fresh "barricaia" (barrique cellar), in a suggestive and romantic atmosphere, to enjoy a guided wine dinner with fine wines and fresh and tasty products from the Chianti area.
If you wish you can buy wines and oil produced by the farm estate directly in the cellar.
